Ajax Mitts
Design
The Ajax Mitts are my favorite style of handwarmers for when the breeze gets a bite in the fall or in the late winter… they’re easy & fast to knit and fun to style.
The mock-cable twisted stitch is set atop a rib, which provides an elastic fit. Make sure you select a finished size with sufficient negative ease, up to 2-3” recommended.

Finished Measurements: Finished Circumference: 6 (7.5, 9)”/ 15 (18.75, 22.5)cm
Suggested hand sizes: 6.5-8 (8-9.5, 9.5-11)”/ 15.5-20 (20-23.75, 23.75-27.5)cm
Yarn: Tosh DK by Madelinetosh (100% Superwash Merino Wool) 225 yards/205 meters Shown in color: Rye Bourbon 1 skein
For yarn substitutions: DK weight yarn 120 (140, 160) yards/110 (130, 150) meters
Needles: Primary Needle Size: US 4/5mm Ribbing Needle Size: US 2/4mm
In both sizes, you will need needles for your preferred method for knitting small circumferences in the round (16”/40cm circular, DPNs, or 40”/100cm circular for magic loop).
